Dhayam Tamil Movie Review
Eight, Fight
STORY:
Eight individuals come to a company to attend interview for the post of the chief executive officer (CEO). The interviewer throws a challenge to the candidates.
The aspiring CEOs are informed that the one who was holding the post earlier committed suicide by leaving a note that whoever comes to that post next would be killed.
Now the task is- the candidates would be left in the room where the CEO hanged self and the doors would be locked. Whoever survives after one hour will be chosen to lead the company.
ANALYSIS:
Boasted as India’s first single room thriller, Dhayam directed by Kannan Rangasamy offers some good moments to the audience with innovative thinking and execution.
But if we tend to rate the film overall, we can only say that the debutant director has clearly bitten off more than what he could chew. But still, he shines in a complex script which would pose a challenge even to expert filmmakers.
The cast has lot of lead actors- Santhosh Prathap, Jayakumar, Jeeva Ravi, Shyam Krishnan, Aira Agarwal, Anmol Sandhu, Kadhal Kannan, Ajay, Anchal Singh. Though all are shown in a single room, they have performed well.
Music by Sathish Selvam adds more eeriness to the script. So are camera work by Packiaraj and editing by Sudarshan. Apparently inspired by some Hollywood works, the director has made ‘Dhayam’. And he is half successful in his mission.
Verdict: 2.5 out of 5
