Chennai 2 Singapore Tamil Movie Review

Start, camera, action

STORY:

Harish (Gokul Anand) is an aspiring filmmaker. He comes in contact
with a producer whom he trusts a lot. But his mother warns him, asking him not to trust the producer.

Her prediction becomes true, as the producer cheats Harish and goes ahead to make the film with another director. Harish, who is hurt and irked, attacks the producer and injures him.

To escape from the consequences, his friends ask him to go to Singapore. They also make arrangements for him to meet a producer there.

But fate has other plans for Harish, for the producer whom he intends to meet in Singapore meets with an accident and goes to coma.

Harish comes across cameraman Vaanambadi (Rajesh Balachandiran), who introduces him to a hotelier Michael Chris Muruganantham (Shiv Kesav). Harish is now given two weeks time to pen a romantic script.

In the meantime, he also meets a cancer patient Roshini (Anju Kurian). Is he able to complete the script in the given time? Does he achieve his mission of becoming a filmmaker?

ANALYSIS:

The makers of Chennai 2 Singapore promised before the movie’s release that it is going to be a laugh riot. And yes, they have lived up to the promise, for the flick is an out and out comedy entertainer.

But you should not expect logics and other things. If you are ready for a fun-filled ride barring a few scenes, Chennai 2 Singapore may be your choice for this weekend.

Gokul is right choice for the lead role and he has delivered goods. Others in the cast- Rajesh Balachandran, Anju Kurian (who reminds us of Nazriya Nazim), Shiv Keshav and Emcee Jesz- have done their respective roles well.

Ghibran’s music is one of the biggest strengths of the movie, with the other highlights being Karthik Nallamuthu’s cinematography and editing. Director Abbas Akbar has proved his mettle in Chennai 2 Singapore. The only minus point is the lag in certain scenes, which can be overlooked.
