STORY:
Karnan (Vishal), a police officer, is corrupted to the core. He is not just corrupt, but is also a cunning, manipulative and ruthless cop.
There is a vile gang leader (R Parthiepan) in the town and Karnan joins forces with him. By getting money from the don, he helps him in all his unlawful activities.
One day, Karnan meets a beautiful woman and activist (Raashi Khanna) and it is love at first sight for him. He impresses her and makes her fall for him too.
Karnan’s girlfriend wants him to save the life of a girl who is in danger because of the don’s men. For, she has the proof for the atrocities staged by the gang.
Soon, Karnan undergoes a change of heart and becomes a honest police officer. The rest is all about how he puts full-stop to the illegal activities of the gang.
ANALYSIS:
Ayogya, directed by debutant Venkat Mohan, a former associate of A R Murugadoss, is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Temper, which had NTR Junior in the lead role.
The director has been faithful to the original version, except a few changes to the script. Vishal is fit and fine as police officer and he has replaced NTR by doing complete justice to the role.
For Raashi Khanna, this is yet another chance to prove her skills and she has made use of the role in an effective way. Parthiepan roars and rocks in a negative role, while the likes of KS Ravikumar and Sonia Aggarwal are adequate.
Music director Sam C S has conveyed with this film that he can score well for commercial flicks too. V I Karthik’s power-packed cinematography adds value to the script.
Edited by Sreekar Prasad, Ayogya is a police story packed with commercial ingredients and an apt message to the society. For Vishal, this is his best police story so far after disappointing outings in Sathyam, Vedi and Paayum Puli.
