Aranmanai 2 Tamil Movie Review

Scare is fair

STORY:

As the name suggests, Koviloor village has an Amman temple and it is gearing up for consecration. During this period, the Goddess will become powerless.

Making use of the ‘opportunity’, selfish exorcists perform some rituals and activate spirits. And a powerful ghost Maya (Hansika) emerges from the grave and enters the Zamindar’s (Radha Ravi) palace and puts him into coma.

As the information is conveyed to Zamindar’s son Murali (Siddharth), he and and his fiance Anitha (Trisha), who are chilling out in Bangkok, come to the village.

Soon, they start experiencing paranormal activities. Following this, Anitha’s brother Ravi (Sundar C) jumps into action and finds out the reason behind Maya’s vengeance towards Zamindar’s family. How he sets things right is the crux of Aranmanai 2.

ANALYSIS

If you feel the story of ‘Aranmanai 2’ is very much similar to ‘Aranmanai’, sorry, we can’t help it. But we can tell you very well that despite all its cliches and templated formula, ‘Aranmanai 2’ offers entertainment for a couple of hours.

Trust Sundar C and he won’t disappoint you. The case is no different in ‘Aranmanai 2’. He has once again laced a horror script with loads of comedy and sizzling romance, thus making it a tasty and tangy dish.

Siddharth’s role is an extension of what Vinay did in ‘Aranmanai’, but still, the actor makes his presence felt. Trisha has attempted something different and emerges triumphant, while Hansika excels in a short but powerful role. The real hero is Sundar.

There is nothing much to say about Hiphop Tamizha’s music except the gripping background score, while U K Senthilkumar’s camera is superb. Special effects too deserve a mention. To sum it up, ‘Aranmani 2’ won’t disappoint you if your sole hunt is entertainment and you are not bothered about logic.
