Swasika opens up about missing out on Arjun’s Blast

Actor Swasika has revealed that she was once approached for a role in Arjun Sarja’s recent action film Blast but was unable to join the project because of scheduling conflicts.

Speaking during a recent interview following the success of her latest film Karuppu, which featured Suriya in the lead, the actress said she had been offered the character eventually played by Abhirami in Blast. However, she was already committed to multiple projects at the time, making it impossible to accommodate the film’s shooting schedule.

Looking back, Swasika admitted that turning down the opportunity remains one of her professional disappointments. She explained that she has long wanted to be part of a full-fledged action entertainer and felt that Blast would have given her the chance to explore that genre. Although she believes the film turned out well, she said she still wonders how the experience might have been had she been able to participate.

The actress added that action-oriented roles remain high on her wish list and expressed hope that she will get an opportunity to headline a similar project in the future.

Apart from action films, Swasika also spoke about her interest in portraying historical, mythological and devotional characters. She said she is particularly drawn to powerful female figures from Tamil culture and folklore, as well as characters associated with faith and spirituality. According to the actress, visits to temples and exposure to local traditions have strengthened her desire to take on such emotionally intense roles on screen.
