Sushant Singh Rajput death: Rhea Chakraborty gives important statement to police

The investigation into the death of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput has intensified with the police reaching out to the late actors’ close friends and recording their statements.

Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is rumoured to have been dating the actor, was interrogated by the Mumbai Police for nine hours straight.

During the interrogation, Rhea Chakraborty reportedly confirmed that she had been living with Rajput and that the couple was looking to invest in property together as they had planned to get married in November.

Rumoured to be in a relationship with plans of getting married, Rhea was reportedly asked to show phone records to the police. According to a media report: “Rhea was asked to show all the text messages exchanged between the two.

Her entire phone was scanned, including all their pictures and videos together. Rhea spoke about living in with Sushant and also revealed that they were planning to buy a property as well. She admitted that they did plan to get married by the end of 2020.”

Police were unable to trace a suicide note in Sushant’s Bandra apartment. Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh said in a tweet that ‘While the post mortem report says actor @itsSSR committed suicide by hanging himself, there are media reports that he allegedly suffered from clinical depression because of professional rivalry.@MumbaiPolice will probe this angle too.”

On Wednesday, police recorded the statement of Bollywood casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who was also close to Rajput. The police were trying to understand reasons behind Rajput’s depression. So far, the police have recorded statements of more than 10 people, including Rajput’s family members.
