Suriya’s Scene: Dialogue writer rejects face blindness rumours about the actor’s role

Speculation about Suriya’s character in the upcoming Tamil film Scene has prompted the film’s dialogue writer, Dravid Selvam, to clarify that online theories about the actor playing a person with face blindness or a visually impaired police officer should not be treated as confirmed information.
Selvam has urged audiences to avoid drawing conclusions from rumours circulating on social media and to wait for the film’s release to understand the character and storyline.
Directed by Malayalam filmmaker Jithu Madhavan, known for Romancham and Aavesham, Scene marks his first directorial venture in Tamil cinema. The project has attracted attention since the unveiling of its title and teaser.
The director has revealed that Suriya portrays DSP Indaraj, a police officer who works with a team of individuals known for their unusual characteristics and unconventional personalities. The narrative follows Indaraj as he brings the group together and uses their different strengths to investigate a significant case.
The film is expected to blend police procedural elements with action and comedy. Madhavan has described it as a family entertainer, with the story exploring how the distinctive members of the team work together to overcome challenges during their investigation.
Malayalam actor Naslen and Nazriya Nazim are among the principal cast members. The film also marks Naslen’s entry into Tamil cinema. Anandaraj, Lal and Raj Priyan are part of the supporting cast.
The music is composed by Sushin Shyam, who has worked on several Malayalam productions. The project is backed by Suriya and Jyotika’s production banners, 2D Entertainment and Azagaram Studios.
While the unusual team dynamic has fuelled audience curiosity, the filmmakers have yet to confirm the character theories circulating online. More details about the story are expected to emerge as the film approaches release.
