Suriya has joined hands with director Sudha Kongara Prasad of Irudhi Suttru fame for a film. The untitled movie has been launched officially with a customary pooja.
The film is said to be a biopic on Air Deccan founder Captain Gopinath. Aparna Balamurali, who was last seen in Rajiv Menon’s Sarvam Thaala Mayam, has been roped in as the female lead.
While Suriya plays the role of Gopinath, Aparna will essay the role of his wife Bhargavi Gopinath. Actors Arjunan, Kaali Venkat and Vivek Prasanna are part of the supporting cast.

The film will be bankrolled by Suriya’s production house 2D Entertainment and co-produced by Rajasekar Karpoorasundarapandian in association with Oscar award winning producer Guneet Monga.
Surya is currently busy working on KV Anand’s Kaappaan. Bankrolled by Lyca Production, the film also stars Malayalam superstar Mohanlal with Arya playing the antagonist. The film would mark the third collaboration of Suriya and Anand after their previous outings Ayan and Maattraan.
Sudha Kongara is popular for her works in Tamil, Telugu, and Bollywood. She debuted as a screenwriter for the Indian-English film Mitr, My Friend, directed by actor Revathi which was selected as the Best English Film of the year award at the 49th National Film Awards.
