Suriya reveals why he and Jyotika chose Scotland for their vow renewal
Suriya and Jyotika recently celebrated their relationship by renewing their wedding vows in an intimate ceremony surrounded by close friends and family. The couple later shared glimpses of the special occasion online, receiving warm reactions from fans and well-wishers.
On Sunday, Suriya thanked everyone for the affection shown towards the couple. Sharing another video from the ceremony, the actor expressed his appreciation for the people who helped bring the celebration together. He also acknowledged the photographers, videographers, the team at Blairquhan Castle and the floral arrangements crew.
The couple referred to the celebration as “The Sequel, 20 Years of Love and War”. Suriya also opened up about why Scotland was selected as the setting for their vow renewal.
According to the actor, Scotland’s misty landscapes and lochs felt closely connected to the couple’s own journey. He added that the warmth and kindness they experienced from the people they met during the trip made the occasion even more memorable.
Suriya and Jyotika reportedly first met while working on the 1999 film Poovellam Kettuppar. Their relationship is said to have developed a few years later while working together on Kaakha Kaakha in 2003. The couple married on September 11, 2006, and later welcomed their son Dev and daughter Diya.
Although Suriya and Jyotika have not appeared together as lead actors since Sillunu Oru Kaadhal in 2006, they have continued to support each other professionally. They have also been associated with film production through their respective production ventures.
