Following the succcess of the three instalments of Singam, it seems Suriya and director Hari are planning to come up with Singam 4 and an official announcement is expected soon.
According to sources, Sun Pictures will bankroll the movie. If this happens, it will be the sixth venture by the Suriya-Hari duo, after Aaru, Vel, Singam, Singam 2 and Singam 3.
The film will most probably go on floors after the actor wraps up NGK and his other film with KV Anand. Even though Singam 3/Si 3 did not quite live up to the expectations, the Singam franchise is still a popular one. As such, the latest film might create a buzz amongst the fans.
Meanwhile, Singam will soon be remade in Punjabi with Ajay Devgn stepping in as the co-producer. Directed by Navaniat Singh the film will star Parmish Verma and Sonam Bajwa in lead roles. Harmeet Singh will be in charge of the cinematography.
Already, the film was remade in Hindi by director Rohit Shetty in 2011, with Ajay Devgn playing the lead. Later, the film was remade into Kannada and Bengali.
Singam is a 2010 Indian Tamil action masala film directed by Hari, starring Suriya and Anushka Shetty in the lead. The film, produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja in association with Reliance Big Pictures, and distributed by Sun Pictures, was released on 28 May 2010.
Upon release, the film was dubbed into Telugu and released as Yamudu in the same year and into Hindi as The Fighterman Singam by Goldmines Telefilms in 2012.
