Suriya and Jyotika donate Rs one crore for welfare of Irula tribe
Suriya and Jyotika donated Rs 1 crore to the welfare of the Irula tribe. A cheque for the amount was handed over to Tamilnadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
Retired Justice K Chandru and members of Pazhankudi Irular Trust received the cheque from Suriya, Jyotika and MK Stalin.
Directed by Tha Se Gnanavel, Suriya’s recent release Jai Bhim is based on a true incident that happened in 1993. The film speaks about caste discrimination and injustice subjected to the Irula tribe.
On behalf of their production house, 2D Entertainment, Suriya and Jyotika donated Rs 1 crore to Pazhankudi Irular Education Trust.
