Suriya accepts invite to join Oscar committee
Suriya received one of the prestigious honours of being invited to join the Oscar committee.
Responding to The Academy’s invite, the actor took to Twitter to thank them for the honour. He accepted the invite and promised his fans that he would strive hard to make them proud.
Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to congratulate his ‘brother’ Suriya for this incredible feat.
Suriya became the first Tamil actor to be invited to join the Oscar committee. Ever since the news broke, congratulatory messages have been pouring in from all quarters.
On June 29, Suriya responded to The Academy’s invite. He wrote, “Thank you @TheAcademy for the invitation, which I humbly accept. My heartfelt thanks to all those who wished me, will always strive to make you all proud!! (sic).” Suriya will represent India alongside Kajol and Reema Kagti.
