Super Good Films producer R B Choudary passes away following fatal car crash

Veteran film producer R.B. Choudary passed away in a tragic road accident in Jodhpur today afternoon.

The 72-year-old founder of Super Good Films was reportedly on a personal visit to Rajasthan when his vehicle met with a fatal collision.

While two fellow passengers are currently stable in a local hospital, the legendary producer passed away before medical help could intervene.

R.B. Choudary’s career was defined by his incredible ability to spot talent and craft family-friendly blockbusters.

He was famously instrumental in the meteoric rise of TVK founder and Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister-designate, Vijay. Under his Super Good Films banner, Choudary produced several of Vijay’s most defining career hits, including the 1996 breakthrough Poove Unakkaga, the cult classic Love Today, and the massive emotional blockbuster Thullatha Manamum Thullum.

These films not only established Vijay as a household name but also cemented the producer’s reputation for delivering clean, commercially successful cinema.

Beyond his work with Vijay, Choudary was a powerhouse across multiple languages, recently overseeing the banner’s 98th project, Maareesan (2025).

The industry was looking forward to the 99th film, Magudam, and his highly anticipated 100th production.

He is survived by his wife, Mahjabeen, and his sons—Suresh, Jeevan, Ramesh, and actor Jiiva.

His body is being moved to Chennai, where stars, politicians, and fans are expected to gather to pay their final respects to a man whose vision shaped the modern era of Tamil cinema.
