JEE Main 2019 counselling and seat allotment will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for all the eligible and suitable applicants. To take part in counselling and seat allocation of JEE Main 2019, aspirants will be required to register to JoSAA in an online method.
JEE Main Counselling and the online procedure of the allotment of seats will begin from the second week of June. The process of the counselling and seat allocation of JEE Main 2019 will be done according to the candidates’ merit, the preference of choices and availability of seats. JoSAA will initially allocate the seats in two mock rounds, which will assist the aspirants to be acquainted with the seats. They could be selected on the strength of their choices filling in JEE Main. As soon as the mock rounds of allocation are finished, seven core rounds of seat allotment will be carried out for contenders.
It has already been decided that the NTA will be conducting JEE Main 2019 two times a year only in an online mode. Aspirants can either select January or April JEE Main 2019 examination. Students can attempt both of the exams as well. The top score out of the both will be considered for the counselling session.

Step 1: Online Registration
Applicants will be required to register to JoSAA in online mode by entering their roll number and password to take part in JEE Main 2019 counselling and seat allocation process.
Step 2: Online Choice Filling & Locking
Select and save the options in an order of the choices of colleges and B.Tech programs. The seat allotment will be done according to the choices filled.
Step 3: Seat Allotment
According to the availability of seats, merit, and preference entered, the applicants will be allotted seats. Nonetheless, previous to the real seat allocation, mock allotment will be conducted in two rounds. This will let aspirants know the seat allocation procedure and also facilitate them to opt for better preferences for themselves in the core rounds.
Step 4: Payment of Fee & Seat Acceptance
The moment the seat is allocated, applicants will be required to select any one of the subsequent options:
- Freeze: If aspirants are contented with the seat allotted to them and do not aspire to take part in the additional rounds, they will be required to opt this alternative.

In order to validate the seat, applicants will be required to pay the fees by using SBI Net Banking or e-Challan. The Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) is Rs 45,000 for all the applicants apart from SC/ ST/ SC-PwD/ ST-PWD/ GEN-PwD/ OBC-NCL-PwD. Aspirants who belong to SC/ ST/ SC-PwD/ ST-PWD/ GEN-PwD/ OBC-NCL-PwD categories are required to pay Rs. 20,000 as SAF.
Step 5: Verification of Documents
Applicants will be required to get the verification of their documents at the help centres. The following documents are required to be produced at the time of authentication:
- 3 passport size photographs (those uploaded at the time of registration)
- Conditional JoSAA seat allocation letter
- Photo identity card
- Testimony of SAF payment
- JEE Main 2019 Admit Card
- Proof of date of birth
- JEE Main 2019 Score Card
- Mark sheet of Class XII
- Category certificate (if required)
Step 6: Final Reporting at the Allotted Institute
As soon as the verification is completed, aspirants will be required to report at the selected institute. They have to pay the balance amount in the institution to validate the admittance.
JEE Main 2019 Special Round Counselling
Subsequent to the termination of JoSAA 2019 seat allocation, CSAB will be conducting a particular round of counselling for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The allocation will remain open exclusively for those who have completed their JEE Main 2019 examination successfully and have achieved applicable scores. The online listing for CSAB 2019 special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs will begin from the last week of July.
