Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 directed by Shankar went on floors in January this year and after a few days of shooting, the film’s progress came to a halt.
It was reported that the film has been dropped citing that the production company, Lyca Productions had backed out of the project.
However, it is now learnt that Shankar has convinced Lyca Productions, and the movie is set to begin shooting from June end.
Though the shoot will be resumed by the end of June, Kamal also has ‘Bigg Boss 3’ commitments and hence the actor will not be available for two to three days a week. Shankar has no other option left but to shoot the film whenever time permits until the actor complete shooting for the reality show.
It’s worth mentioning that Lyca also got Superstar Rajinikanth’s Darbar directed by A R Murugadoss which is scheduled to release on Pongal 2020.
While Kajal Aggarwal has been roped in to the play the female lead in Indian 2 and also undergone training in Kalaripayattu, an Indian martial art, veteran actor Delhi Ganesh is also part of the film.
Indian-2 brings back the aging vigilante, who fights against corruption. The first-look poster of the film was unveiled recently, which showed Kamal in an action avatar performing varma kalai martial art.
The movie with the tagline ‘Older Wiser Deadlier’ is being directed by Shankar, while musical score is by Anirudh Ravichandran. Cinematography is by Ravivarman.
