Stalin to attend HDK’s swearing in, Rajini too invited

MK Stalin, the working president of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), is all set to take part in the oath-taking ceremony of HD Kumaraswamy as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Also, superstar Rajinikanth has been invited by JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda to attend the swearing in ceremony to be held in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Kumaraswamy has asked Rajinikanth to visit the State and see the situation (water levels) for himself, after which he would change his stand.

“If there is water in Karnataka it is possible for us to give them (Tamilnadu). I request Rajinikanth, please come and see the situation in our dams, what has happened to our farmers. After seeing that, if you (Rajinikanth) still want water, let’s discuss,” Kumaraswamy said.

Along with other Tamil Nadu leaders, Stalin too has repeatedly cried foul about Karnataka not releasing Cauvery water into Tamil Nadu.

Earlier, after it became clear that Kumaraswamy would be the next CM of Karnataka, Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan tweeted, “Welcome to Democracy Sir. I am proud to congratulate the legitimate Chief Minister of Karnataka. Glad I waited.”

Stalin in a series of tweets had said, “Democracy in Karnataka has been saved by the actions of the Supreme Court. I extend my congratulations to HD Kumaraswamy and Congress. May this herald the coming together of secular parties for the upcoming elections.”
