Stalin asks Modi to take measures to conduct Asian Beach Games in Chennai

Chief Minister M K Stalin on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take all required steps to conduct the next Asian Beach Games in Chennai.

“The next Asian Beach Games is scheduled in January, 2024. In the meeting of Asian Olympic council held at Tashkent in May, this year, in which it was principally agreed to host the event in Chennai and the Union Ministry of Sports should accord a guaranteeing free passage for the participants of these games along with other guarantees by September, this year, to make sure that the event should be held at Chennai,” said the Chief Minister, in a letter to Prime Minister.

The 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad was inaugurated by the Prime Minister on Thursday and after inaugurating the event, the Prime Minister left for Delhi. During the departure, Stalin thanked Modi for inaugurating the event and presented him a chess board.

Immediately after the departure, Stalin wrote the letter in which he thanked the Prime Minister for extending all possible cooperation for the Chess Olympiad and urged him to extend the same cooperation for the Asian Beach Games too.

Stalin also recalled the letter written by him on May 23, this year, to the Union Sports Ministry on the same subject and urged the Prime Minister to direct the Union Sports Ministry to complete all the procedures so that Chennai gets the chance to host the Asian beach games.
