Indian stars Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi, who passed away recently, featured in the In Memoriam section at the 90th Academy Awards on Monday.
It is to be noted that the In Memoriam segment of the Oscars pays tribute to artistes who have passed this year.
Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder took to the stage the perform for the In Memoriam segment. Significantly for Indian fans, the late Sridevi, who died this month and Shashi Kapoor, who died in December, 2017, were honoured.
Reacting to this, Aamir Khan said, “My heart goes out to Boney and her children. It’s very saddening and untimely. She deserved the Oscar mention.”
Aamir couldn’t attend the funeral and last rites of the actress on February 28 and thus was seen visiting Boney Kapoor’s residence in Lokhandwala on Monday.
Others who featured in the In Memoriam section include James Bond star Roger Moore, Mary Goldberg and Johan Johansson, John Heard and Sam Shephard.
