Sivaji fans opposed to Dhanush’s Karnan

Fans of legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan have urged producer Kalaipuli S Thanu to change the title of Dhanush’s new film Karnan which is being directed by Maari Selvaraj of Pariyerum Perumal fame.

In a letter to Thanu, Chandrasekharan, President of Sivaji Social Welfare Association, said: “We all know that Karnan is legendary Sivaji Ganesan sir’s classic film. Now we have come to know that your film with Dhanush is titled as Karnan.”

He added: “It would be great if you could add a prefix or suffix instead of repeating the title of Sivaji’s classic film as it hurts the sentiment of ardent fans”.

Dhanush had recently wrapped up shooting of his film with director Karthik Subbaraj, which was tentatively called ‘D40’ and has moved on to shoot for his next film titled Karnan with director Mari Selvaraj.

It was earlier reported that Dhanush’s ‘D40’ is speculated to be titled as Suruli. Now, it has has been official confirmed that the film starring Dhanush and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead is titled Suruli.

Meanwhile, the theatrical trailer of Dhanush’s Pattas looks engaging and entertaining. The film got an reincarnation angle. While the senior Dhanush follows the traditional martial arts, the younger one seems to be a happy go lucky guy who also gets involved in the modern day kick boxing.
