Siruvan Samuel movie review
Story:
The movie is set in the 90s when cricket was gaining popularity in India. Samuel is a young boy from a village in Kanyakumari district.
He is completely into cricket and dreams of buying a bat. He starts collecting cricket cards hoping that he will get a bat in exchange for it.
Samuel takes the help of his close friend Rajesh to fulfill his dream. A rich kid comes to the locality with a video game and loses it.
People assume that Rajesh is the who has stolen the video. This completely changes Rajesh’s life. What happens next. How is Samuel involved in this forms the rest of the story.
Analysis:
Director Sadhu Burlington has made the story based on the lives of two young boys from the rural parts of Kanyakumari.
The director takes the audience through a trip down memory lane. He has made the movie with utmost honesty and sincerity which strikes a chord with the audience.
Ajidhan Thavasimuthu as Samuel and KG Vishnu as Rajesh have delivered stellar performances.
They are perfectly cast in their respective roles and has breathed soul into their characters.
The duo have aced the Kanyakumari dialect which is a complete treat to watch. Rest of the cast have also understood their role and have delivered what was expected from them.
Music directors Sam Edwin Manohar and J Stanley John have done a commendable job and are mighty impressive in their work.
V Sivananth Gandhi’s camera has captured the beauty of Kanyakumari in an eye pleasing manner.
