Simbu to take on Maanaadu with Maghaa Maanaadu

In his answer to the makers of Maanaadu who dropped him from the film, Simbu aka STR has decided to make a movie titled Maghaa Maanaadu.

The film, which will be directed by Simbu himself, will be bankrolled by his father and veteran filmmaker-actor T Rajendhar on their home banner Chimbu Cine Arts.

Confirming the development, TR says, “This is a multilingual film, which will be made in five languages with a budget of Rs 120 crore. The project is being made in multiple languages to cover the budget. I will be investing my 35 years of experience in this movie, the USP of which will be high production value and making style.”

Last week, Maanaadu producer Suresh Kamatchi said Simbu was no more a part of the much-anticipated political thriller Maanadu, a film that directorVenkat Prabhu announced last year.

“It didn’t take off the way we had planned and we couldn’t execute it. It’s better to part ways now rather than push it later,” he said.

The film was announced last year and was supposed to go on the floors in February. When rumours about the film being shelved made the rounds, producer Suresh Kamakshi had announced that the film was still on and that pre-production work was under way.

In fact, Simbu was said to have shed oodles of weight to look his part and is kicked about the script of Maanadu. He went to London for martial arts training, and after his return, he went to work for his cameo role in Hansika’s Maha.
