Simbu to romance Megha Akash in Attarintiki Daredi remake

Telugu blockbuster Attarintiki Daredi will be remade in Tamil with SImbu aka STR playing the lead role. It has now emerged that Megha Akash will be the heroine of the movie.

“The makers met Megha recently and signed her on for the project. They are yet to lock the rest of the cast, though,” sources said.

Revealing more details about the film to be directed by Sundar C, they said, “Major portions of the film will be shot in Hyderabad, and the first schedule will begin by month-end.”

Interestingly, Megha Akash is Dhanush’s pair in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s yet to be released Enai Nokki Paayum Thota and the shoot is currently happening in Mumbai.

It is to be noted that Sasikumar has agreed to play a special cameo in the film. Meanwhile, the Tamil remake of Attarintiki Daredi will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions.

Attarintiki Daredi is a 2013 Indian Telugu-language comedy-drama film written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. It stars Pawan Kalyan, Samantha Akkineni and Pranitha Subhash in the lead roles with Nadhiya, Boman Irani and Brahmanandam in supporting roles.

The film was produced by B. V. S. N. Prasad under the banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra in association with Reliance Entertainment. The soundtrack album and background score were composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
Prasad Murella was the cinematographer. The film focuses on Gautham Nanda, a business heir who acts as a driver in his estranged aunt Sunanda’s house to mend her strained relationship with his grandfather Raghunandan who expelled her for marrying against his wishes years before.
