Simbu, who is also a talented singer besides an actor and director, has lent his voice for an energetic kuthu song in G V Prakash Kumar’s upcoming heroic venture Bruce Lee.
Directed by Prashanth Pandiraj, the film has GV Prakash and Kriti Kharbanda playing the lead roles. The film is touted to be a dark comedy and is expected to hit the screen towards the end of July or early August.
GVP is playing a Vijay fan in Bruce Lee. “It is an action thriller and Prakash, who is doing the role of a college student, will be seen as Vijay fan,” sources said.
Interestingly, Prasanth Pandiraj, the director of ‘Bruce Lee’, is also said to be a die-hard fan of Vijay. Originally titled ‘Baasha Engira Anthony’, the film’s name was later changed to Bruce Lee, after the makers failed to acquire the relevant permission to use the title from the makers of Superstar Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Baashha’.
Samantha and then trisha were approached to play the leading female role, but their unavailability meant that Kriti Kharbanda, who also appeared in the Telugu Bruce Lee, was signed on to make her debut in Tamil films.
The team held a photoshoot in October 2015, with Kriti revealing that her and Prakash would portray college students. Production subsequently began later that month, with the makers targeting a release date in early 2016.
