Simbu finally starts shooting for Maanaadu, lengthy schedule in Hyderabad

STR aka Simbu’s upcoming film Maanaadu went on the floors on Wednesday.  Manaadu was officially launched in a customary pooja ceremony on Wednesday in Chennai.

It was attended by Seeman, Directors Cheran, Bharathiraja, Kalaipuli Thanu and the entire cast and crew. The team will head later to the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad.

The Venkat Prabhu film had finally moved forward over the past month after several reports that the film was shelved. The film is about politics and is being bankrolled by V House Productions’ Suresh Kamatchi.

A few weeks back, it was also announced that director-producer SA Chandrasekhar, actor-director Bharathiraja and actors Karunakaran and Premji have been roped in for crucial roles while Kalyani Priyadarshan will co-star alongside Simbu.

The technical front comprises Yuvan Shankar Raja as the music composer, Richard Nathan behind the camera, Praveen KL as the editor andRajeevan as the production designer.

Venkat Prabhu says, “We are delighted to have begun the shoot of the film. Since February 18 was an auspicious day, we started the project with a puja. Well-known directors like Cheran and Seeman, along with producers like S Thanu, T Siva, Gnanavel Raja, and Anbuchezhiyan among others were present.”

The director informs the team will be largely shooting in Hyderabad. “We will be shooting some talkie portions with Simbu and Kalyani Priyadarshan in Chennai for about two days and then leave to Hyderabad by the end of this month for a 40-day schedule. “
