Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women has entered Asia Book of Records & India Book of Records of “Maximum Students Wearing Indian Freedom Fighters’ Masks”

Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women located at the heart of the city, T.Nagar, Chennai, illustrious for imparting the best education and professional skills for the students has entered the Asia Book of Records & India Book of Records for a spectacular activity. Marking the occasion of 75 years of Indian Independence, The college adopted the “AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV” initiative of the Government of India. Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women embarked on a colossal initiative by hosting 75 activities in the college premises as a token of exhibiting and celebrating our Nation’s 75 glorious years of freedom with unique and captivating co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. One among them was 75 school students each from 79 schools in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, and Thiruvallur joining 2700 students of Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women. The students wore the face masks of Indian Freedom Fighters in their respective institutions at the same time, to create the record.

These activities were based on the themes of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in an effort to join hands and contribute to the Government of India’s journey in celebrating and commemorating our nation’s history. The grand fortnight celebrations commenced on August 1, 2022, and continued till August 14, 2022, which sent forth a strong vibe of celebrating the grand occasion of Independence Day on August 15, 2022.
