Shri Physio & Rehab Launched in Adyar | Eminent Medical & Healthcare Leaders in Attendance
Shri Bone & Joint Clinic Successfully Launches Shri Physio & Rehab, South Chennai’s First Doctor-Led, Technology-Advanced Rehabilitation & Wellness Centre
Shri Bone & Joint Clinic marked a significant milestone in Chennai’s healthcare landscape with the successful launch of Shri Physio & Rehab (SPR), its expanded and upgraded rehabilitation and wellness facility, at Indira Nagar, Adyar.
The inauguration was attended by eminent members of the medical fraternity, senior doctors, healthcare professionals, well-wishers, and representatives from the sports, fitness, and wellness community, underscoring the strong support for advanced, non-invasive musculoskeletal care.
The event witnessed the participation of Dr. Prashant Rajagopalan, Director – MGM Healthcare group of hospitals, Dr A.B Govindaraj, Director of Department of orthopaedics and sports injuries, MGM Healthcare and Mr. Venugopal Bhat, COO – MGM Malar Hospital, whose presence added gravitas to the occasion and reflected the growing alignment between clinical excellence and rehabilitation-driven wellness models.
Distinguished attendees also included Justice Anand Venkatesan, popular media personality RJ Balaji, Mani, noted cartoonist Madan, veteran actress Kutty Padmini, and Adyar SI Murugesan among others.
Spread across 3,600 sq. ft., Shri Physio & Rehab has been envisioned as a comprehensive, doctor-led rehabilitation ecosystem integrating orthopaedic care, physiotherapy, and preventive wellness. The centre is designed to redefine recovery through evidence-based protocols, advanced global technologies, and a multidisciplinary team working under specialist medical supervision, with a larger mission of building a “knee pain–free society.”
The centre is founded by Dr. Shriram Krishnamoorthy, Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 15 years of experience, specializing in knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, and sports injuries. Internationally trained at institutions such as Baylor (Dallas), Stanford (Palo Alto),
University College London, NHS Manchester, and Chesterfield, Dr. Shriram has previously served at Fortis Malar and MGM Healthcare, and currently practices at MGM Malar, Adyar. He is joined by Dr. Sindhuja, Medico and PhD Scholar in Embryology and Stem Cell Biology, who co-leads the centre’s holistic, wellness-focused philosophy. Together, they advocate lifestyle correction, structured exercise, aqua therapy, and conservative rehabilitation as the first line of care before surgical intervention.
The newly launched facility features two consultation rooms, three physiotherapy rooms, two procedure rooms, a dedicated open rehabilitation zone, a wellness hall for group programs, ample parking, and thoughtfully designed interiors that create a calm, home-like healing environment. The Wellness Hall will host yoga, strength training, mobility sessions, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis workshops, and curated programs for seniors and children.
A key highlight of the launch is SPR’s international-standard aqua therapy unit, making it the first centre in South Chennai to offer professionally designed aquatic rehabilitation. The 200 sq. ft. aqua facility supports one-on-one therapy sessions for knee arthritis, shoulder conditions, sports injuries, and mobility challenges, with strict hygiene and water-quality protocols in place.
Another major attraction is Robospine, an advanced AI-enabled robotic spinal decompression system. Available at only a handful of centres in Chennai, Robospine delivers targeted disc-specific traction, improving outcomes while minimizing complications. Digitally stored patient data ensures consistency and continuity of care across therapy sessions.
Shri Physio & Rehab offers a wide spectrum of services including pain management modalities, manual therapy, strength and conditioning, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injury recovery, geriatric physiotherapy, women’s health physiotherapy (led by exclusive female therapists), and paediatric movement programs guided by orthopaedic experts. The centre also integrates mental wellness support through a clinical psychologist and nutritional guidance via a consulting dietician, reinforcing its holistic approach. Home physiotherapy services are available when required.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Shriram Krishnamoorthy said, “Recovery is not just a process; it is a partnership. At Shri Physio & Rehab, we work closely with every patient to help them regain strength, confidence, and a pain-free life.”
Members of the senior therapy team added that physiotherapy is as much about restoring confidence and independence as it is about managing pain.
Services at SPR are affordably priced, with aqua therapy and Robospine sessions at ₹1,499, physiotherapy modalities at ₹699, a five-session package at ₹2,799, and monthly rehabilitation programs at ₹10,999. The centre operates Monday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Appointments can be scheduled at 044 4505 5509 / 99529 00206.
Looking ahead, Shri Physio & Rehab plans to expand across Chennai with dedicated wellness centres and introduce new initiatives such as senior education programs, children’s health modules, Tai Chi for balance, and outdoor strength and HIIT sessions, alongside collaborations with AI-driven healthcare startups.
With the successful launch of Shri Physio & Rehab, Shri Bone & Joint Clinic reinforces its commitment to science-led, compassionate, and transformative musculoskeletal care, offering Chennai a destination where recovery meets innovation and wellness becomes a way of life.
