Shocking report on facilities availed by Sasikala in jail

An inquiry report has reportedly claimed ousted AIADMK leader V K Sasikala who is imprisoned at the Parappana Agrahara Central prison in Karnataka in disproportionate assets case received preferential treatment in the jail.

According to TV reports, the report submitted by a committee stated that Sasikala, aide of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had bribed the officials to enjoy special privileges.

“A senior police official had got Rs two crore to make the necessary arrangements. Sasikala has left the prison during the night time. Food was separately cooked for her,” said the reports.

With reports of the premature release of Sasikala doing the rounds the last couple of weeks, AIADMK’s official organ, Namadhu Amma last week debunked the talk and asserted that the “dual leadership” of the party would carry it forward.

It said the party, being led jointly by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, was “marching towards 2021 (elections).”

Meanwhile, today, Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) police carried out a raid inside the Parappana Agrahara prison, and seized 37 knives/daggers, marijuana, mobile phones and SIM cards from the prison cells.

According to Joint commissioner of police (crime), Sandeep Patil, “Based on various complaints, we conducted raids at Parappana Agrahara jail today and seized mobile phones, SIM cards, knives/daggers, ganja, ganja smoking pipes and other banned items. Further investigation is going on.”
