Director Shankar is currently busy with sequels to two of his earlier blockbusters- Rajinikanth’s Enthiran and Kamal Haasan’s Indian.
While the superstar himself is playing the lead role in 2.0, the sequel to Enthiran, the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ himself is playing the protagonist in Indian 2.
2.0 has been made in 3D and its teaser itself will be released on 3D format and 2D format on September 13, the Vinayaka Chathurthi day.
As far as Indian 2 is concerned, reports said Shankar is actually planning to bring back the key characters from the first part which was released in 1996.
Nedmudi Venu who played the honest CBI officer in Indian was loved by the audiences for his solid characterization and efficient performance.
Shankar is planning to bring back Nedumudi Venu in the sequel. The director is also in talks with Sukanya, Goundamani, and Senthil to reprise their roles from the first part.
Shankar is also supervising the post-production works of Rajinikanth’s 2.0 and expected to deliver the final output to the film’s producers ‘Lyca Productions’ soon.
Indian is a 1996 Indian Tamil vigilante film written and directed by Shankar and produced by A M Rathnam. The film stars Kamal Haasan in dual roles with Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar, Sukanya and Goundamani appearing in other pivotal roles.
The film’s score and soundtrack are composed by A R Rahman, while cinematography was handled by Jeeva.
