While the first look of Thalaivi earned criticism with many alleging that Kangana Ranaut did not look like Jayalalithaa, the second look has been released today to mark the birth anniversary of the late leader.
In the second look, Kangana resembles Jayalalithaa well. Meanwhile, it is said Poorna has been roped in for the role of V K Sasikala in the film.
Also, Roja fame Madhoo will be essaying the role of VN Janaki, MGR’s wife, in the film. Says the film’s director Vijay, “I first wanted to cast Madhoo ma’am for the role of Sandhya, Jayalalithaa’s mother, but once I met her in person, I felt that she would be apt as Janaki.”
Meanwhile, Kangana recently visited the Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy temple in Rameshwaram. Kanagana’s team shared pictures of the actress in which she is not only seen worshipping Lord Shiva but also getting the theertham from the holy wells.
The caption read: “Kangana in Rameshwaram this morning! After getting Sita back from Lanka, Rama established this Shivlingam to absolve him of the sin committed as he killed Ravana a great Shiva devotee. This is also one of the four Dhams.”
Kangana also visited former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam memorial in Rameshwaram. “Kangana visited and paid respect to Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at the beautiful memorial built in his name in the same city as he was born in — Rameshwaram.”
