A teenage school student has been detained by the police for issuing bomb threat to the house of superstar Rajinikanth.
Police have found that he was slightly mentally ill and he made a call to the 108 helpline when he tried callling toll free numbers from a phone in his house, whose outgoing call facility was stopped.
A team of police officials and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) on Thursday rushed to actor Rajinikanth’s house in Chennai after receiving a bomb threat call. Later, the call turned out to be a hoax.
The call landed at 108 ambulance control centre at 10.30am. The man claimed that bombs were planted at the actor’s residence in Poes Garden and disconnected the call.
When the bomb squad and police reached the actor’s residence, they weren’t allowed to enter his house and conduct search operation because of COVID-19 scare.
The team checked the security guard’s cabin and the area outside Rajinikanth’s house and declared it a hoax call. As soon as the news flashed on the local TV channels, hundreds of fans of the superstar crowded outside his residence.
Meanwhile, on the work front, speculations are rife that Rajinikanth is going to team up with Karthik Subbaraj for Petta 2. The director revealed in his latest interview that even though he doesn’t have any story in his mind, the sequel can definitely take place in the future.
Rajini has Annaatthe, directed by Siva in his kitty. The film co-starring Nayanthara, Khushboo, Meena and Keerthy Suresh is scheduled to hit the screens next Pongal.
