While hearing a the civil suit filed by Sun Pictures, the production house of Sarkar, Madras High Court has stayed the release of the pirated version of the film on the internet and cable TV channels.
In the past, Mani Ratnam also moved the Madras High Court to ban the pirated links of his O Kadhal Kanmani and immediately, proper instructions given to telecom companies to ban the websites and to remove such links.
Meanwhile, the Madras High Court has reportedly banned special shows of Sarkar on Diwali this year. The court acted upon the complaint filed by an activist named Devaraj.
The court observed that special or extra shows should not be played during festivals. A few days ago, the makers reached a settlement with Varun. AR Murugadoss and the production house revealed that they have decided to thank Varun in the credits of Sarkar.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, ‘Sarkar’ is set to release on November 6. Keerthy Suresh and Varalakshmi played the female leads. Music is by A R Rahman.
