Saravanan’s lewd confession & Kamal’s silence earn wrath of many

At the Bigg Boss 3 show recently, Saravanan, one of the key contestants openly said that during college days, he used to travel in Government buses to molest/grope women for fun.
Saravanan confessed this when Kamal Haasan was trying to say that why women shouldn’t falsely accuse anyone as it will water down the seriousness of real complaints raised by others.

The incident happened soon after Meera Mithun had accused Cheran of misbehavior. When Kamal Haasan played the video, Meera Mithun was proved wrong.

Kamal then immediately reprimanded Meera and said that false accusations will water down the seriousness of real complaints. He also cited the example of how women on private transports had a harrowing time with men who groped them. As Kamal did not hit out at Saravanan, many were criticising both.

However, fans of Kamal Haasan said that the actor satirically teased him by saying ‘You have reached the state of purity’ and moved on to the next topic without giving much importance to him.

Meanwhile, singer and activist Chinmayi tweeted: “A Tamil channel aired a man proudly proclaiming he used the Public Bus Transport system to molest/grope women – to cheers from the audience. And this is a joke. To the audience. To the women clapping. To the molester. Damn”.
