Saravanan evicted from Bigg Boss

Actor Saravanan, who bragged about having sexually harassed women on buses during an episode of Bigg Boss Tamil last week, was eliminated from the show allegedly for his controversial comments.

Trade analysts Ramesh Bala and Kaushik LM tweeted Monday evening that the actor was ousted from the show for his inappropriate remarks, which invited a lot of backlash on social media.

Ramesh Bala wrote, “Saravanan eliminated from Bigg Boss Tamil season 3 for saying he has inappropriately behaved with women in bus travel during his youth.”

Kaushik LM posted: “#Saravanan evicted from #BiggBossTamil3 due to his recent controversial comments abt playfully groping female passengers while traveling in bus during his college days.”

The elimination came at the end of Monday’s episode as Saravanan was called to the Confession room in the house by Bigg Boss.

Bigg Boss told Saravanan: “Since we had to pay attention to Meera-Cheran issue last week, it was not possible to consider the comment you made on television at that point in time. Though you had apologized in the episode on July 29, the Bigg Boss team has decided not to take this incident lightly.”

Stating that the team will not accept any wrong approach when it comes to misbehavior with women, he said, “Crores of families in Tamil Nadu and outside are watching this programme. The message we want to send across is that though the incidents happened in the past, we strictly condemn it. Hence it has been decided that you shall not continue in this show. Saravanan, you are evicted from the Bigg Boss house.”

Saravanan had admitted on camera, that he used to grope women on public buses during his college days. His remarks earned severe backlash from various quarters.
