“Sandakari” Movie Review
“Love, Laughter and Ambition Come Together in a Colourful Commercial Entertainer!”
Sandakari is an engaging commercial entertainer that blends romance, comedy, family emotions, and workplace drama across the contrasting worlds of London and Tamil Nadu. Written and directed by R.Madhesh, the film attempts to present a light-hearted love story with an interesting premise and plenty of entertaining moments.
Vimal, a gold-medal-winning engineering graduate, works as an assistant to Shreya, a senior executive in a London-based company. Although he has created an app of his own, circumstances lead him to take up the role of an assistant. Vimal’s short temper often gets him into difficult situations, adding an entertaining layer to his character.
Shreya, meanwhile, faces an important problem when her London visa expires. She must return to India to apply for a new visa, but her professional ambitions make the situation complicated. Hoping to secure her future in London, she comes up with a plan involving Vimal. She decides to pretend that they are married so that she can strengthen her case for London citizenship. However, Shreya’s rival also has plans to use Vimal against her and disrupt her career growth.
The story takes an interesting turn when Vimal has to travel to Tamil Nadu to meet Shreya’s parents and gain their acceptance for her project. Whether Shreya’s carefully planned strategy succeeds forms the central thread of the film.
Vimal carries his role with confidence, maintaining a consistent screen presence whether the story is set in London or the villages of Tamil Nadu. His performance suits the film’s commercial tone. Shreya, too, effectively portrays an ambitious, strong-willed, and somewhat arrogant woman who is not easily influenced by others.
Uma Padmanabhan, Poo Geetha, Sathyan, K. R. Vijaya, Rekha, Dev Gill, Crane Manohar, and Mahanadi Shankar add valuable support to the narrative. Their experience and natural performances contribute to the film’s entertaining moments.
Cinematographer R. B. Gurudev beautifully captures both London’s urban landscapes and the picturesque locations of Tamil Nadu. The songs and background music by Amrish complement the mood of the scenes effectively. Editor Dinesh Ponraj keeps the presentation smooth and accessible.
Overall, Sandakari is a colourful commercial film that brings together romance, comedy, family situations, and workplace drama. R. Madhesh has created an entertaining package that moves between London and Tamil Nadu while exploring love, ambition, relationships, and misunderstandings.
