Sai Abhyankkar joins Sivakarthikeyan’s next film, SK27
Composer Sai Abhyankkar has been brought on board Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming 27th film as a lead actor, provisionally titled SK27.
The project is being written and directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan, whose debut feature Parking earned national recognition. The announcement marks the first time Abhyankkar will compose music for a Sivakarthikeyan-led film.
Although this is their first collaboration in the composer-actor pairing, Abhyankkar previously lent his voice to Salambala, a track from the soundtrack of Madharaasi, composed by Anirudh.
Kayadu Lohar will play the female lead in SK27, marking her first film alongside Sivakarthikeyan. The technical team includes cinematographer Om Prakash, editor R. Kalaivanan and art director A. Rajesh.
The film is being produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner, with T. G. Thyagarajan presenting the project.
Ramkumar made his directorial debut with Parking in 2023. The film won the National Film Award for Best Tamil Feature Film, while Ramkumar received the award for Best Screenplay and M. S. Bhaskar was recognised in the Best Supporting Actor category.
Abhyankkar’s recent composing work includes the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Baththa. His upcoming projects include Dhanush’s Om, Bakkiyaraj Kannan’s Benz, Karthi’s Marshal and Raaka, featuring Allu Arjun and directed by Atlee.
Sivakarthikeyan also has Seyon, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, in development. Meanwhile, Kayadu Lohar is working on Mari Selvaraj’s Manjanathi and is set to appear alongside Suriya in T. J. Gnanavel’s Suriya 48.
