RJ Balaji reveals interesting things about Nayanthara-starrer Mookuthi Amman

RJ Balaji, who has so far played supporting characters on screen turned a writer and a hero with his last outing LKG. Following this, he will be making his debut as a director with Mookuthi Amman, starring Nayanthara in the lead. This film is being co-directed by NJ Saravanan.

Balaji took to social media to release the first and second look posters. The actor looks ethereal as Amman in these new posters. The poster features Nayanthara in a red and green saree with a trishul in her hand.

Talking about the movie, he says, “It will have all the elements that were there in the devotional films that we grew up watching. It will be a nostalgic trip, but there will also be a takeaway that is relevant, especially in this present times.”

He adds: “I wanted someone with a larger-than-life presence to play the role of the goddess. I did not write this role particularly for Nayanthara, though I wanted someone of her stature… an actress with that majestic screen presence.”

Recently, the actress wrapped the shooting of her forthcoming film Mookuthi Amman. The makers of the film took to social media to release the first and second look posters.

Nayanthara is all decked up in the poster with a Trishul in her hand. She is clad in a red and green saree with matching accessories. Balaji tweeted: “Firstlook of #MookuthiAmman ..! 🔥🔥🔥#Nayanthara #MookuthiAmmanFL.”

Produced by Vels Film International, Mookuthi Amman will have music by Girishh Gopalakrishnan. The film is expected to be released this Summer.

Notably, the name Mookuthi Amman garnered much spotlight after it was used in Singeetham Srinivasa Rao’s 2001 film Little John, which starred Bentley Mitchum and Jyothika in lead roles.
