Remo opens big, gets tax exemption from TN govt

Sivakarthikeyan’s much awaited Remo took to bumper opening this morning, with special shows starting as early as 5 and 6 am, similar to the releases of Ajith and Vijay movies.

Crowds in theatres were so huge and they celebrated the release by bursting crackers and distributing sweets, proving the growing star power of Siva.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu government has granted tax exemption for Remo, which will be a big boost for the film at the box office.

Senior members from the tax exemption committee watched the film few days ago and on Thursday, they have sent tax exemption certificate to 24 AM Studios, the production house.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, the movie’s heroine Keerthy Suresh said, “I am sure that Remo which is a  rom-com is packaged  in an entertaining manner that will appeal to everyone. For me, working in Remo was super fun and all of us became like one big family during the shoot.”

Written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, the film stars Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh in the leading roles, while Sathish, K. S. Ravikumar and Saranya Ponvannan among others portray supporting roles.

Featuring music composed by Anirudh and cinematography by P. C. Sreeram, the film began production during October 2015.
