Regina Cassandra, who is popular in Kollywood thanks to Rajathanthiram and Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, has stepped into Bollywood.
Amitabh Bachhan, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Arshad Warsi — that’s the star cast of Regina Cassandra’s maiden Bollywood venture, Aankhen 2.
“It all happened organically. The makers liked my work in a few of my films in South and approached me through one of my PR friends in Mumbai. I was asked to fly down to Mumbai, so I just hopped down recently and got selected,” she says.
“It really feels good! Making it to Hindi films, which is a global platform, is a big feat for an actress from the south. The Aankhen team got to know about me through my work, and I did not even audition. I had to do a photoshoot instead,” she adds.
“Like Aankhen, this film is about three blind men involved in a robbery. My character is sexy and seductive, and it has a mix of both good and bad shades. It is a performance-oriented role,” she adds.
There will be times when she’ll be all lovey-dovey too. So it’s going to be fun portraying a two-faced personality on screen. It’s a first for me and I’m looking forward to start shooting. The film is slated to roll in January next year, she states further.
