“Red Flower” Movie – Grand Audio and Trailer Launch Event !!

Produced by K. Manickam under the banner of Sri Kalikambal Pictures, Red Flower is an action thriller film featuring Vignesh in the lead role. The film has been written and directed by Andrew Pandian and is set to release in theatres on August 8.

The audio and trailer launch function was held in a grand manner at Kamala Theatres, Chennai, in the presence of actor Vishal, directors P. Vasu, Suraaj, and several other prominent personalities from the Tamil film industry.

Producer Manickam spoke:

“Red Flower is the first and biggest production of Sri Kalikambal Pictures. Everyone here, not just those on the stage, are my special guests. From the beginning of the project until now, everything has gone exceptionally well. I am deeply thankful to the universe. I have completed two other films, but haven’t released them yet. I wanted Red Flower to be my debut release. This is not a love story or a family drama—it’s a film that highlights India and portrays the country as a global superpower. Director Andrew Pandian will emerge as one of the finest directors of this generation.”

Actress Kavya said:

“The film imagines what a third world war would look like if it happens in 2047. It portrays the events during the war and how India would look in that era. Instead of relying on green screen effects, the film has been shot entirely in real locations. It will provide a fresh experience to the audience.”

Actor Y.G. Mahendran said:

“Everyone on this stage is a legend. If this film succeeds, the credit goes entirely to director Andrew Pandian. He is well-supported by producer Manickam and lead actor Vignesh. This film is like a futuristic Baahubali, even more challenging than it. Think of Mission Impossible or The Matrix—this film will resemble them. I was given the role of India’s Prime Minister in 2047, something I could never have imagined. The dream of Netaji’s India is coming true through this film. It will resonate with youth and with every citizen who wants a better India.”

Actor Thalaivasal Vijay said:

“Composer Santhosh has delivered the perfect music for this film. The director told me I am the villain of the film. In my 32-year career, I’ve never played a role like this. I thank the director for this opportunity.”

Actor John Vijay said:

“Vishal and I studied together in college. It’s a joy to share the stage with him. He always stands by everyone. From the song Aathangarai Marame to Red Flower, Vignesh has retained the same youthful charm. I’ve been given a very strong character in this film.”

Director Andrew Pandian said:

“In 2047, a war breaks out against countries refusing to pay the Malcolm Tax. Red Flower is an organization created by Netaji to deal with this threat, and the story shows how India confronts and overcomes it. Our cameraman took 300–350 shots per day—he is incredibly fast. The editor has also done an extraordinary job.”

Actor Ajay Rathnam said:

“The director’s dream has been realized on screen. Faith always leads to success. Just like a red rose, Red Flower will bloom into a big hit.”

Actor Vignesh said:

“I deeply respect director Bharathiraja, and similarly admire P. Vasu sir. Actor Vishal is not just a great performer but also a compassionate human being. He helps anyone in need at the actor’s association. Y.G. Mahendran sir’s passion amazed me—he constantly checked on the film’s progress. Every actor in this film, including John Vijay, Ajay Rathnam, and Suresh Menon, has given their best. All the technicians are young and energetic—it was a pleasure working with them.

Some advised the producer not to cast me in this film, but Manickam sir stood firm and completed the project. He is not in cinema to make money, but out of passion. If this film succeeds, he’ll go on to produce many more films.

I’ve struggled in cinema for over 30 years. Cinema is everything to me. I may fail, but my efforts should not fail. In the past, some of my films became hits only weeks after release, like Chinnathayi and Raman Abdullah. But today, a film must do well on the first day. So don’t wait. Go watch it in theatres right away.”

Director Suraaj said:

“I’ve directed Vishal before. Many people used to approach him for help on set, and he always obliged. I’m glad he’s here today. Vignesh, your struggles, efforts, and the humiliation you’ve faced—this film will surely bring you a big success.

Producer Manickam is my relative and son-in-law. I thought he’d make a small film, but he’s gone all out—of the ₹9 crore budget, ₹2.5 crore went just into CGI. Though he completed two films earlier, he chose Red Flower as his debut release. If this film succeeds, he will produce many more.”

Director Thirumalai said:

“At first, I wondered if Manickam was just dabbling in cinema. But after speaking with him, I understood his deep interest in the industry. Had a top director made Red Flower, the budget would have touched ₹50 crore. But Andrew Pandian completed it for ₹9 crore. He already has another completed film I’ve seen—equally impressive. He’s backed by a strong team of young technicians. This film is for the Indian nation.”

Dream Warrior Pictures’ Guhan said:

“Red Flower was made entirely with young technical talent and at great cost. We’re happy to distribute the film. The story revolves around an organization created by Subhash Chandra Bose, imagined to re-emerge in 2047. The CGI in this film is top-notch—on par with Hollywood.”

Director P. Vasu said:

“Two years ago, Vignesh brought the director to narrate this story, and I was amazed. This film is filled with complex technological aspects. CGI is no small feat—it requires enormous effort. Reportedly, 90 minutes of this film are CGI-heavy. Vignesh is a hard worker, always energetic. Your efforts will not go in vain. The film industry today is highly competitive, especially with the advent of OTT. We must create world-class content. The actors in this film have delivered extraordinary performances.”

“The shooting of Walter Vetrivel took place in Vishal’s house. His father, G.K. Reddy, was a great fan of cinema. How can his son fail when he takes joy in others’ success?”

Five Star Kathiresan said:

“No matter how many films Vignesh has acted in, this one will be his most important and successful. He must always remain loyal to producer Manickam. Today, many actors and directors do not respect producers.

Directors like P. Vasu and K.S. Ravikumar would complete films within the agreed budget. Nowadays, directors don’t stick to budget. In Telugu cinema, when a budget exceeds limits, actors pitch in to support producers. Many Tamil producers are struggling—please help them.

OTT platforms only buy films after watching them. So plan well in advance.”

Actor Vishal said:

“P. Vasu sir has stayed relevant from the past till now because of his dedication and hard work. Today, many are awarded doctorates, but Suraaj truly deserves one. His comedy scenes, especially with Vadivelu, have been medicine for many.

Just as this hall is full today, I hope the theatres will be packed when Red Flower releases. There’s no big or small film. I came here for my friend and fighter Vignesh. Despite all the humiliation and hardship, he made it here and deserves success.

Manickam is a gem of a producer. While many directors struggle to imagine what 2025 will look like, Andrew Pandian has shown us 2047. My two favorite freedom fighters are Bhagat Singh and Netaji. I’m happy that this film pays tribute to Netaji.

A request to theatre owners: For the first three days of a film’s release, don’t allow public reviews inside theatres. Let reviews happen outside. Also, to the producer’s council: too many films (10+ per day) are being released. Please organize releases properly.

Actor’s union building inauguration work is ongoing. My birthday is August 29—expect good news then. I’ll also announce my wedding date soon.”

Manisha Jashnani plays the female lead opposite Vignesh. Other key roles are played by Nasser, Y.G. Mahendran, Suresh Menon, John Vijay, Ajay Rathnam, Leela Samson, T.M. Karthik, Gopi Kannadasan, Thalaivasal Vijay, Mohan Ram, and Yoke J.P.

Cinematography is by K. Devasurya, music is composed by Santhosh Ram, and editing is handled by Aravindan Arumugam. Story, screenplay, dialogues, and direction are by Andrew Pandian.

Red Flower hits theatres on August 8.
