Ravi Mohan’s ‘Bro Code’ promotions stopped by Delhi High Court

A major legal dispute has put a temporary halt on the promotional activities for actor-producer Ravi Mohan’s upcoming film, Bro Code.

The Delhi High Court has issued an interim injunction restraining Ravi Mohan Studios Private Limited from using the title, following a trademark infringement suit filed by Indospirit Beverages Private Limited, the company that owns the registered BROCODE mark for its alcoholic beverage.

Ravi Mohan Studios has countered the lawsuit by alleging that the dispute is a result of their refusal to agree to a promotional partnership with the beverage brand.

They claim that the ‘BROCODE’ team asked them to endorse their alcoholic product in the film, which they declined, and the Delhi High Court case was filed thereafter.

The Delhi High Court’s ruling places the film’s title in serious jeopardy, forcing the producers to consider a new name before release.

This setback contrasts with an earlier interim order from the Madras High Court, which had previously provided some relief to RMS against the beverage company’s alleged “groundless threats.”

The matter will be heard next on December 23rd, where the final fate of the title is expected to be decided.
