Ramya Subramanian in Vijay-Lokesh Kanagaraj film

Ramya Subramanian, also known as VJ Ramya, is an Indian film actress and television host, who has worked in the Tamil film industry. She has roped in for an interesting role in Vijay’s upcoming film.

Being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of Maangaram and Kaithi fame, the movie is being fondly called as Thalapathy64. Says Ramya, “I am really thrilled to be a part of this film. I consider myself lucky as I get to work with big actors and technicians.”

She adds: “It is an important role and that’s all I am allowed to say now. I have been shooting in Delhi for more than 20 days.” On working with Vijay, she says, “I have been a fangirl since forever. Being a fan, hosting his audio launches, and now, to be sharing screen space with him makes the circle complete.”

Recenty, Amala Paul was in the news for sharing a passionate kiss with her co-star VJ Ramya in Aadai. Amala, in an interview, has elaborated on the intention behind the scene.It was rumoured that the film might explore the LGBTQIA angle, while some reports suggested that Amala’s character Kamini is just doing a dare in the scene.

Talking about it Amala said, “What’s wrong in kissing a woman? That shot was spontaneous and not scripted. Once you are in the character, you should let your inner actor take over you.”

She added: “There is nothing sexual here. You have to watch the film to understand the context of the scene. In fact, I felt extremely powerful. Initially, I didn’t know how to pull off this scene, but once I was done, I felt even more comfortable with my body.”

 Ramya VJ is a not only fitness freak, she is also a weight lifter. Ramya recently took to her social media handle and updated videos regarding the same. On previous occasions too, Ramya has shared few workout videos. Ramya also motivates her followers to do workout to stay fit.

Ramya competed in the “Miss” Chennai competition in 2004, finishing amongst the finalists. Ramya subsequently went on to host television shows including Kalakkapovadhu Yaar?, Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhudeva?, Namma Veetu Kalyanam and Kedi Boys Killadi Girls on STAR Vijay.

She revealed post-marriage, that she would cut down on television commitments and become more choosy with her work. In 2015, Ramya made a comeback to films by appearing as Dulquer Salmaan’s friend, Ananya, in Mani Ratnam’s O Kadhal Kanmani (2015).

Her performance was well received by critics.[6] In the same year, she became an RJ at BIG FM 92.7. She was on the covers of WE Magazine’s fitness special issue for the month of August 2019.
