Ram Temple Trust accepts general secretary resignation, names interim general secretary

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has accepted the resignations of its General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra. Trustee Krishna Mohan has been appointed as the Interim General Secretary while the Trust begins an administrative review following the alleged donation theft controversy.
The decisions were taken during a meeting lasting over three hours at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The Trust announced that its next meeting will be held on July 22, when members are expected to examine the Special Investigation Team’s final report and take decisions on appointing new trustees and office-bearers.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Trust treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri acknowledged that the allegations had caused significant concern within the organisation.
He said the Trust was deeply distressed by the situation, adding that the seriousness of the issue was not limited to the value of the alleged theft but also to the environment that allowed such a controversy to emerge.
Govind Dev Giri further stated that, under the Trust’s governing rules, resignations become effective immediately upon submission, leaving little scope for reconsideration once they are tendered.
