Rakul Preet Singh, who was earlier tipped to be the heroine of Vishal-Mysskin’s upcoming movie Thupparivalan, has opted out of the much expected project.
Confirming the development, the actress said, “It is true that I am no longer a part of the project. As per the initial plans, the film was supposed to start a little earlier, based on which I had committed to other projects.”
She added: “I’m currently shooting for Mahesh Babu’s untitled bilingual film with AR Murugadoss at the helm and Ram Charan-starrer Dhruv, the Telugu remake of Thani Oruvan.”
Recently, Akshara Haasan, the younger daughter of Kamal Haasan, signed on the dotted line for Vishal’s Thupparivalan, directed by Mysskin.
Confirming the development, Vishal posted on his online page: “Happy 2 announce another addition to our #Thupparivalan cast.a warm welcome to @AksharaHaasan1 aka akshu.gna b damn exciting n rivettiing.GB”.
Late last month, Vishal commenced his new film Thupparivalan with an auspicious pooja. Thupparivalan’s director Mysskin was also present at the pooja ceremony along with actor Prasanna, who plays an important role in the film.
The movie, tipped to be a nail biting thriller in Mysskin’s style, is fast taking spae.
This apart, The Nadgar Sangam general secretary will soon start a movie to be helmed by debutant Mithran.
According to sources, the film, tipped to be an action thriller, has been titled Irumbu Thirai (inspired by a yesteryear Sivaji Ganesan movie) and it will have Samantha as female lead.
