Superstar Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith and Vijay have taken the lead in directing their supporters to distribute relief materials.
Rajini has sent Rs 50 lakh worth relief materials to cyclone hit areas and directed members of Rajini Makkal Mandram to reach out to the needy.
Rajinikanth, through his fan club Rajini Makkal Mandram, has been supplying necessary materials to the victims in the affected areas. According to reports, he has provided materials worth Rs 50 lakh.
Lyca productions, which has bankrolled the upcoming Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar film 2.0, has donated Rs 1 crore. The film’s director Shankar also gave Rs 10 lakhs for the same.

Ajith has sent relief materials from Chennai in lorries, even as his fans are involved in lot of relief work in the cyclone hit areas.
Actor Vijay Sethupathi, last seen in Tamil film “96”, has announced a relief fund of Rs 25 lakh to be spent towards buying rechargeable torch lights and saplings for those whose farms have been destroyed by cyclone Gaja.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that heavy rain will continue till Wednesday, escalating the situation. Leaders of various political parties in the state have urged the State and Central governments to provide funds and extend assistance to the people affected.
