Rajinikanth to start party soon, calls for meeting of RMM district heads

To discuss the floating of his party and other things, superstar Rajinikanth has invited district heads of his Rajini Makkal Mandram to Chennai on Thursday.

At his meeting with them at Sri Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Kodambakkam, Rajini is expected to discuss certain important things and take crucial decisions.

Representatives of Tamil Nadu Jama’atul Ulama Sabai called on  Rajinikanth at his Poes Garden residence in Chennai on Sunday and explained to him the impact that CAA, NRC and NPR will have on Muslims.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of Rajinikanth offering to lead a protest if even a single Muslim is affected by the CAA, while maintaining that the Centre is unlikely to withdraw it.

The actor made the comments in a tweet after a few leaders from a Muslim outfit called on him at his residence.

“I am willing to play any role in order to maintain peace in the country. I too agree with their (Muslim outfit leaders) comment that a country’s prime objective should be love, unity and peace,” he said in the tweet.

While reacting to the incidents of violence in Delhi, Rajinikanth recently said that it was “an intelligence failure … it is the Home Ministry’s failure”.

Rajinikanth had said, “The protests that are happening in Delhi are because of intelligence failure. I condemn it. When a leader like Trump (US President) is in the country, the intelligence department should have been more vigilant. They didn’t do their job properly. At least now I expect them to be vigilant. The violence should be dealt with an iron fist.”

He added: “And if it is an intelligence failure, it is the Home Ministry’s failure. I strongly condemn the people and the political parties that use religion for electoral gain.”
