Rajinikanth responds to TVK’s Aadhav Arjuna’s comments

After a political remark sparked widespread debate, Rajinikanth has now broken his silence.

The veteran actor thanked political leaders, film personalities, and fans who came out in his support, while also rejecting the claims made about him.

The controversy began after Aadhav Arjuna, General Secretary of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), said during a March 12 protest that the ruling DMK had allegedly threatened Rajinikanth when he was considering entering politics.

The statement quickly drew criticism from across political parties and the film industry.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Rajinikanth responded to the claims, calling them untrue. “Mr Aadhav Arjuna, who holds a leadership position in the TVK, recently made a statement about me that was contrary to the truth,” he said.

He also thanked several leaders who spoke out in his support. “I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all those who raised their voices in my support and condemned his defamatory remarks—Tamil Nadu Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami, Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran, Union Minister L Murugan, Tamil Nadu Minister S Raghupathy, Thol Thirumavalavan, SP Velumani, my friend K Annamalai, Arjunamurthy, Anbumani Ramadoss, GK Vasan, John Pandian, Pugazhendhi, and many other political leaders across parties.”

He further acknowledged support from the film fraternity and media. “I also extend my gratitude to friends from the film industry, including Ameer and G. Dhananjayan, as well as to media personalities Nakkheeran Gopal and Rangaraj Pandey and all members of the media. Above all, I thank my fans—the very deities who sustain me—with all my heart.”

Ending his note on a reflective note, he added, “Time does not speak, but it waits and delivers the answer.”

Aadhav Arjuna had also claimed that Rajinikanth returned to acting under Red Giant Movies after facing pressure from the DMK.
