Rajinikanth meets district heads of RMM, discusses party launch

Superstar Rajinikanth today met the district secretaries of Rajini Makkal Mantram (RMM) in Chennai. According to sources, he discussed various things, including the launch of his political party.

Rajinikanth’s decision to meet RMM district secretaries came at a time when there is a growing expectation about his political entry ahead of the 2021 assembly polls in Tamil Nadu. The district secretaries assembled at his marriage hall, Sri Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam, in Kodambakkam.

Rajinikanth has been commenting on major political issues, after his announcement of entering into politics in the December of 2017. The superstar has been actively discussing various issues starting from local issues to issues like nationwide CAA protests.

Even after talking about entering into politics, he hasn’t commented on when he will make that move or when he will start his political party, He started a forum called Rajini Makkal Mandram in the year 2018 with all his fans club and appointed district secretaries to take care of the forums.

RMM functionaries said they received phone calls from mantram convenor V M Sudhakar on Tuesday asking them to be present at the Raghavendra Marriage Hall at 10 am on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Dravidar Vidudhalai Katchi (DVK) has moved a complaint against Rajinikanth before the Chennai metropolitan magistrate seeking police action against him.

The complaint was moved by DVK general secretary Umapathi. In it he has requested action against Rajinikanth for his remarks against Dravidian icon Periyar.
