Rajinikanth conferred with Dadasaheb Phalke Award
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar today announced that actor Rajinikanth has been conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Rajinikanth is already recepient of Padma Bushan and Padma Vibushan awards.
Dadasaheb Phalke awards are given from 1969 to those who excel in cinema industry.
Earlier actor Shivaji Ganesan, director K Balachander have been conferred with this award from Tamil cinema.
Javadekar classified that the award was given for Rajini’s contribution to Tamil cinema and there was no political motive behind it.
Several celebrities and politicans including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and MNM founder and actor Kamal Haasan have conveyed their wishes.
