Rajinikanth back from Himalayas, talks about spiritual trip

Superstar Rajinikanth, who left for the Himalayas on a spiritual trip on Sunday last, returned to Chennai during the early hours of today.

Speaking to reporters at the airport, he said his journey was good and he relished the trip. Without minding the wee hours, fans gathered at the airport and accorded him a warm welcome.

Rajinikanth, who is regarded nothing less than a demigod by his millions of followers, arrived in Rishikesh on Sunday night with his elder daughter Aishwarya R Dhanush.

He stayed at the Dayanand Ashram and attended the ‘Ganga aarti’ in the evening. He also prayed at the ‘samadhi’ of his guru. Later, he did meditation for some time.

He also visited Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines and stayed at Rudraprayag. Rajinikanth has been spiritually associated with Guru Swami Dayanand Saraswati and his ashram for decades now.

Rajinikanth has recently wrapped up the shooting schedule of his upcoming movie Darbar directed by A R Murugadoss. It happens to be an action – thriller in which Rajinikanth will be seen portraying the role of a cop.

Nivetha Thomas, in Darbar, will be seen playing the daughter of Rajinikanth. She wrote, “And now for the world to know! There is and will only be ONE #AadityaArunachalam And he is MY Appa. Watch! Out! #Darbar.”

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is all set to team up with director Siruthai Siva for Thalaivar 168. Sun Pictures will bankroll the movie.
