Superstar Rajinikanth on Monday hosted Arjun Sampath, founder of right wing outfit Hindu Makkal Katchi, at his residence in Chennai.
“His (Rajinikanth) response was good, he says he wants to do something for Tamil Nadu and country. He will consider joining politics,” said Arjun.
After an hour-long meeting with the megastar at his Poes Garden residence, Sampath stated the actor will free Tamil Nadu from “the clutches of Dravidian rule”.
The HMK leader urged Rajini to enter politics to which he responded he is preparing for the same.
“We are all backing Rajinikanth. We appeal that he should come into politics and give good things to the state of Tamil Nadu,” Sampath added.
He said that the “Kabali” star is well aware that the “system is corrupt”.
“We urged him to be the flag bearer of alternative politics. When we insisted him to join politics, he said he is in preparation for the same. He said he would feel guilty if he doesn’t do anything for the people of Tamil Nadu,” said Sampath.
